If you would like your candidacy considered for endorsement by the West Virginia American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (WV AFL-CIO), please complete and submit this electronic Committee on Political Education (COPE) questionnaire no later than Friday, February 18, 2022. A candidate failing to submit a completed questionnaire electronically by the return date will not be considered for endorsement.

All completed candidate questionnaires received timely will be made available to members of the West Virginia AFL-CIO State and Local COPE committees for review and consideration of endorsement. Please be advised - An Officer of the Local Central Labor Council, whose jurisdiction includes a candidate’s respective district, may contact the candidate to request a personal interview following receipt of his or her completed questionnaire.

As part of the questionnaire, an essay question was developed to provide Legislative candidates an opportunity to explain why they are seeking and should receive the WV AFL-CIO’s endorsement. Note: Incumbent and Former Legislators, previously endorsed by the WV AFL-CIO, may bypass the essay question should they want their accumulative COPE Legislative voting record to speak for itself.

A final decision on West Virginia AFL-CIO 2022 Primary Election endorsements will take place during a March 19th State COPE meeting.
